A nice stay for the price
To start with the good, the staff was very helpful and friendly. We needed a laundry room, and there is an amazing modern one close by which was recommended by the staff. The hotel is close to the station, so we could leave or get home quickly after a day out. The location is only three trainstops to Dotonbori, which we enjoyed visiting in the evenings. The rooms were very clean, and we had access to towels, a water cooker, utensils for the bath, and tea.
For us, the downside was that rooms in Japan are very small, and not having a sitting area or more spacious bathroom can make you feel very cramped. With our baggage in there, it felt like we only had room on the bed. Because of the limited space, the walkable area was blocked by our suitcases, and we had to eat on the bed because there's no sitting area. It was also uncomfortable to sit on the toilet and shower in such a small area. All in all, it was a nice stay for the money we paid.

What was the highlight of JA NAMBA SOUTH HOTEL
Close to subway station and coffee shops
Very close to Tengachaya station where you can catch a subway to anywhere you want to go. The station has a McDonald's, Mister Donut, and 7-Eleven but is also nearby a large supermarket, various bars/takoyaki stands, coffee shops and a KFC. Keep in mind that if you miss the last train (usually around midnight) and you decide to walk to the hotel, you'll be walking through residential neighborhoods.
The room was small, which we didn't mind because we travel light, but if you have large suitcases you'll wish you had more room. We also noticed a few strands of hair on the ground and in the bathtub when we arrived.
